AHP Strengthens Green Credentials
Ancient House Press is celebrating receiving an important environmental award - recognised worldwide - which will increase its access to new markets and customers.
The Ipswich-based company has been accredited by the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Scheme (PEFC), becoming one of only 700 companies in the UK to have fulfilled the required criteria.
PEFC provides assurance to organisations buying wood and paper products that they come from forests that are sustainably managed.
Allison Berry, AHP Joint Managing Director, said: The PEFC accreditation reinforces our environmental commitment, demonstrating that we take the concerns of our customers seriously. It also underlines our support for the sustainable management of forests around the world.
In order to achieve this, the team at AHP had to put in place a number of procedures to ensure we have a valid chain of custody which has now been successfully audited. Congratulations to everyone who has contributed.
PEFC has the support of environmental organisations, state authorities, trade unions, forest managers and owners, timber traders and producers and retailers of paper and timber products.
Ancient House Press, which is based on the in Ipswich, employs 105 people and has a prestigious customer portfolio ranging from Government departments to large household names. Last year it installed a new £2m Mitsubishi Diamond 3000 Tandem Perfector 12 colour press and achieved both ISO 14001 accreditation and FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) Chain of Custody certification.
