New Year Means New Investment for AHP

Ancient House Press, based on the in Ipswich, is celebrating the arrival of 2007 with the announcement of a major investment in a Mitsubishi Diamond 3000 Tandem Perfector 12 colour press.

The £2 million investment in this state-of-the-art technology will enable the company to target more closely the financial and automotive sectors, providing them with 6 colours back 6 colours in one pass.

The unique design of the printing units means that printing can be achieved in perfect, without the need for tumbling the sheet, improving the printing quality, ensuring a perfect register between front and back side and reducing the paper waste by more than 2%.

As part of this investment, Ancient House Press is also purchasing its second MABEG Reel Sheeter RS 104, the Mitsubishi Intelligent Press Control software to provide faster make-ready and minimise waste. The investment also includes the Mitsubishi Colour Control System MCCS 2 to measure and control colour in a closed loop mode, ensuring consistent quality from the first to the last copy of the job.

Allison Berry, AHP Joint Managing Director said: ‘We are delighted to start 2007 with the announcement of a further investment, enabling us to deliver the highest quality work efficiently. The Mitsubishi Diamond 3000 Tandem Perfector is a significant addition to our press room – the first Mitsubishi press in our history – and a decision taken after extensive research by our directors.’

Michael Underdown, Joint Managing Director commented: ‘We looked extensively at the market place and the Mitsubishi press came out well ahead in both quality and new technology. The print market is about staying ahead of the game and you have to continually look and invest in state-of-the-art equipment. The Mitsubishi press certainly does just that.

‘2006 saw a major investment in our JDF system, enabling us to link office systems directly to our production technology improving quality, reporting and enhancing further the customer service we offer. The latest acquisition takes us into a new league and we are looking forward to introducing our customers to its many benefits during the year ’.

Thomas Doliwa, Managing Director, Mitsubishi Lithographic Presses UK Ltd. added: ‘I am delighted that Ancient House Press has chosen Mitsubishi as the preferred partner for its printing solutions. It is a great pleasure for us that probably the longest B1 sheet-fed press ever shipped to the UK will have its home in Ipswich. Our Diamond 3000TP is just one of our many forward-looking solutions and a real quantum leap forward in terms of technology and respect to the environment. We have already started to work closely with AHP on this exciting development.’
