New Investment Puts Ancient House Automatically Ahead

Ancient House Printing Group, based on the in Ipswich, is increasing its competitive edge by investing in further state-of-the-art technology.

The company signed for the purchase of a new Muller Martini PrimaPlus stitcher at IPEX, held recently at the NEC in Birmingham.

The latest installation in the bindery department follows the completion of a £3 million investment programme last year – the largest in Ancient House’s 160 year history.

Increased efficiency and high levels of automation are offered by the PrimaPlus with Amyrs (automatic makeready system), as well as a faster changeover between jobs. All finishing work is now carried out on-site.

Mike Underdown, Joint Managing Director at Ancient House said: “This latest investment improves even further the service we can offer to our customers. It is a perfect complement to the new five colour Komori 38S web offset press which we installed in 2005.”

Ancient House Printing Group employs 128 people and has a prestigious customer portfolio ranging from Government departments to large household names such as Argos and the BBC.
