Software Up-date
Ancient House Press is forging ahead in its drive to harness the most advanced print technology with another major software investment.
The Suffolk company has updated its management information system to streamline its communication and manufacturing capabilities for a wide range of prestigious clients.
It means Ancient House Press (AHP) can provide even faster and more efficient services at its Ipswich headquarters and maintain its position as one of the print industrys leading players.
The company has invested in the latest print production modules of I-tebas Solprint Management Information System (MIS) following an extensive review of the market place.
Finance Director Edwin Mayhew, who carried out the review with the management team, said the investment signalled major benefits for AHP customers, combining value-for-money quality products with increased efficiency.
He said: The Job Definition Format (JDF) revolution is upon us and this will help speed up one of the aims of Ancient House to automate as much of the communication and instruction processing throughout our manufacturing plant as possible.
JDF enables us to link printing equipment to MIS systems with a common language. This will save time, duplication and improve accuracy. We operate at 100mph all the time and our management systems and information resources need to be able to keep up.
The major benefit for our customers is that we can offer a superb value-for-money product with even better customer service and information sharing.
Investing in state-of-the-art technology has always been a long-term commitment for the AHP board and the new modules will enable work to be planned onto presses and in the extensive Finishing Department with ease and with multiple what-if variations to optimise production and guarantee delivery dates.
Staff in both factory units on will benefit from the improved information sharing, with warehouse workers to production management and administration staff having ready access to data.
Ultimately, AHP aims to enable customers to monitor jobs in progress online as well as offering them interactive quoting and invoicing services.
